Mike and Mike return after real life made them skip a week. This week they took a look at the DVD movie ‘The Shrine’ along with the currently in theater movies ‘Contraband’, ‘Underworld: Awakening’ and the WWII movie ‘Red Tails’. You may be surprised which of these three was liked the most by the guys and which one was actually said to have a bad score….yes, they complained about the music. They also took a look a the new Fox show, Alcatraz and gave their thoughts of the “Lostish feel and sounds”. All this and more about the Goat Rodeo.

They also take a look at Entertainment Magazine’s list of “25 Movies To See Before the Oscars”. How many on this list have you actually seen? You may be surprised! This week they take a look at the new theater release of ‘Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows’ along with it’s predecessor, the 2009 franchise starter ‘Sherlock Holmes’. Usually the first movie’s in these series are the best, but was that the case this time? They also take a look at the season finale of the Fox Drama, ‘Terra Nova’ and decide whether or not it should be renewed for a 2nd season or if it has run it course. The Reel Review #117 – The Sitter

Hollywood took a week off in releasing anything good, so Mike and Mike followed suit and took last week off. This week, they return with a brand new show with reviews of the star studded ‘New Year’s Eve’ and the Jonah Hill comedy ‘The Sitter’. Can star power make ‘New Year’s Eve’ a big a hit as the ball dropping in Times Square or Jak’s Rockin’ New Year on ESCape Radio Network? And can the fame of Superbad make the Jonah Hill comedy another classic? The guys answer those questions! With the year winding down, they looked back at 2011 and picked their Top 15 movies of the year….you’ll be surprised how little their individual lists actually matched. All this and they preview a new book series ‘The Hunted’ by Shelia Weiss (thephelidae.weebly.com) and some birthday wishes to Jamie Foxx and Taylor Swift!

The Reel Review #116 – Hugo

Mike and Mike are back after stuffing themselves on turkey, stuffing and a few movies. This week they tell us how they spent their Thanksgiving holiday as well as what they thought of the 2011 “Hangover wanna be” comedy ‘Bridesmaids’. They also go back to their childhood by taking a look at the new installment of ‘The Muppets’ as well as what Mike K describes as “it’s like Hollywood saw itself in a mirror, stopped and began to pleasure itself” in the new in theater release ‘Hugo’. They also took a minute to give their thoughts on the mid season finale of AMCs ‘The Walking Dead’ and whether or not ‘Terra Nova’ has gotten better or if it’s still a “Stargate meets Jurassic Park” themed show. All this and some birthday wishes to Anna Ferris, Don Cheadle and a few others you may have heard of.

The Reel Review #115 – J. Edgar

Mike and Mike are back for another new show. This week they get into the Thanksgiving spirit and take a look at some classic DVD’s starting with the Steve Marin and John Candy comedy ‘Planes. Trains and Automobiles’, the Walter Mathau and Jack Lemon classic ‘Grumpy Old Men’ and one of Mike A’s all time favorites ‘A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving’. Mike K was the only one of the guys to actually go to the theater in these “bad times for movie going” and saw the Bio-pic about the FBI in ‘J. Edgar’. They also get everyone up to speed with the happenings of the AMC series ‘The Walking Dead’ and send their birthday wishes to Scarlett Johansson and of course what is top at the box office.

The Reel Review #114 – Immortals

With last week’s show cancelled because of a dentist, Mike and Mike return this week with a brand new show! Despite having to go visit the dentist for a second time in as many weeks, the show does go on….but not without a little impaired speech. This week the guys take a look at the 1968 classic ’2001: A Space Odyssey’ and it’s 1984 sequel. ’2010: The Year We Make Contact’. They also went to the movies and watched ‘Tower Heist’ and the “Clash of the Titans Wannabe”, ‘Immortals’. What did they think of the movie that someone on a different show said would be “epic”? They also give their thoughts on AMC’s new series ‘Hell on Wheels” and talk a little about what is going on in ‘The Walking Dead’. All this and we all get to hear how Mike’s dentist visit went!

Mike and Mike are back after surviving another Halloween this week they take a look at the 2007 Horror movie ‘Trick ‘r Treat’. What did they think of one of the movies that was dubbed one of the best movies to watch on Halloween? They also took a look at the new in theater movies ‘Puss in Boots’ and the Justin Timberlake thriller, ‘In Time’. What did they think of the ‘Shrek’ spin-off and do they really think that the former N’Sync member is really “becoming a great actor”? Mike K also talks about a very low budget horror comedy in ‘Ahhh..Zombies’. They also get you up to speed on what is going on in ‘The Walking Dead’ and what Mike A called “the best drama on tv today” in ABC’s ‘Person of Interest’. All this and of course the Box Office Report and some birthday wishes to Jenny McCarthy.

This week they take a look at both the 1993 and 2011 versions of ‘The Three Musketeers’ along with the only “real Halloween movie” out right now in ‘Paranormal Activity 3′. Of these three movies, you will be very surprised at which one received the highest rating…here’s a hint, it’s already out on DVD. With the news that AMC has green lit ‘The Walking Dead’ for a third season, the guys talk about the current happenings on the hit Zombie series and Mike K talks about a new podcast that he has gotten hooked on, The Zombie Podcast – We’re Alive. All this and they send their birthday wishes to Katy Perry and Mike K finally gives his opinion on ‘Moneyball’.

Mike and Mike are back from working in other states and cities, so they find the time to get together and do a brand new show. This week they take a look at the new Hugh Jackman movie ‘Real Steel’ along with both the 1982 and 2011 versions of ‘The Thing’. With all the new shows on television this Fall, the guys take the time to let their listeners know if ABC’s ‘Person of Interest’ and ‘Pan Am’ or Fox’s ‘Terra Nova’ are worth the DVR space or your precious time to sit down and watch the show’s when they air each week. They also talked about the return of AMC’s ‘The Walking Dead’ and what they think will happen to the show now that Frank Darabont was fired by the network. All this and some birthday wishes to Jean Claude Van Damme and is Jason Statham really going to be the leading man in Transformers 4 and 5?
